Simple. Eat less meat.
Sell-by dates to be scrapped to cut food waste
Did you know –- “best before date” means that the food product may lose quality after that date but it is still safe to eat. You’re not the only one throwing out food based on the labels. Millions of homes waste tons of perfectly good food. And the British Government is taking notice. We need know our food better and to go back to trusting our senses. Labels are just guidance.
Working to reduce the amount of plastic packaging and waste, Ecologic Brands has developed a new cardboard bottle with an internal plastic pouch. It’s outside is made from entirely recycled cardboard and the inside pouch - which uses 70% less plastic than a plastic jug - is fully recyclable.

Kevin Starr talks about how his philanthropic organisation goes about selecting projects to fund. He says (about the Lifestraw) and I quote:
There is no corelation between awards and impact.
The WWF format is a PDF that cannot be printed out. It’s a simple way to avoid unnecessary printing. So here’s your chance to save trees and help the environment. Decide for yourself which documents don’t need printing out – then simply save them as WWF.

A simple argument, for a simple action
“The unspectacular things are the important things, especially in the future.”

Take from throw-away cultures and give to re-use cultures
Websites like Fonebank.com buy mobile phones from users in countries like the UK where there is no culture or reusing or sharing devices. They are personal and disposable, often come seemingly “free” to users with their subscription plans.
These devices get shipped to countries in Africa or India where there is a second-hand use culture. Its great if these companies are extending the life of these products.
I only worry about whether these devices are just being dumped in “recycling” facilities in these countries where the process is carried out in hazardous conditions by untrained labour who are entirely unaware of the risks they are exposed to.
Am I am being paranoid?
